Site compound location

Roads and Maritime is proposing to use Lot 111 Mulgoa Road as a site compound for construction. It was chosen because its 40 meters away from the nearest waterway, of low ecological and heritage conservation significance, on relatively level ground, and outside the flood boundary. A Construction Environmental Management Plan to regulate the impacts of the project on neighbouring residential properties.

Removal of the Tunnel at Wolseley Street and replaced with dual right turns

In order to widen the Mulgoa Road, the Wolseley Street tunnel will be decommissioned. If we retained the tunnel then it would have increased the likelihood of further property acquisition in order to widen the road. Removing the tunnel means the cost in maintaining the ageing asset will be removed. Since the tunnel floods, decommissioning the tunnel removes the flooding risk and the tunnel being unusable during severe weather events.

4.5m Noise wall separating Mulgoa Road from Hatchinson, Huron and Peter Court

We will build a noise wall between Mulgoa Road and Peter Court, Huron Place, and Hatchinson Crescent. Huron Place will be connected to Peter Court. Both streets will be a shared cycle way and vehicle route. Cars will only be able to enter Peter Court from Glenbrook Street by turning left.
