While not part of Exploratory Works, Tantangara Reservoir is an existing reservoir and key site for Snowy 2.0. Tantangara Reservoir would be linked with Talbingo Reservoir through a series of underground tunnels and a new underground hydro-electric power station. No work is proposed at Tantangara Reservoir during Exploratory Works. The primary purpose of Exploratory Works is to gain a greater understanding of the underground rock conditions at the proposed location of the power station for Snowy 2.0.
