With two main caverns, the Snowy 2.0 power station will be located about 850m underground and will include a machine hall and transformer hall. The machine hall (approximately 240m long, 27m wide and 43m high) will house six 340 megawatt pump‐turbine generating units and associated plant facilities. The transformer hall (294m long, 18m wide and 46m high) will house the power station’s six transformers, power transmission equipment and the draft tube valves. The two caverns will be connected through galleries, which contain electrical equipment needed for the generating units and transformers.
