The lower dam for Snowy 2.0, with an elevation of 546 metres, Talbingo has a total capacity of 920,600 megalitres (which is equivalent to around 370,000 Olympic sized swimming pools) and a surface area of 1,935 hectares. It is the third-largest dam in the Snowy Scheme. Water will enter and exit the Talbingo power waterway through an intake structure designed to operate in both generating and pumping modes.
