We know ongoing construction of major projects such as the Western Sydney International Airport, Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport, the M12 Motorway and various utility upgrades can cause disruption as we deliver these critical programs.

The Airport Precinct and Western Sydney surrounds continue to evolve following significant government investment in city-shaping infrastructure for communities.
The Western Sydney International Airport, Bradfield City, Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport and new road infrastructure, including the M12 Motorway, will transform Western Sydney in the coming decades and unlock social and economic opportunity for the long-standing communities of today, and for the two million people expected to live in the region by 2036.

Additionally, housing shortfalls in many Western Sydney suburbs and projected population growth means the Airport Precinct is in a unique position to accommodate newer and bigger warehousing thanks to the availability of large lots, as well as affordable housing closer to public transport.

Bradfield City is planned to become Australia’s first 22nd Century City, featuring multimodal and technology-enabled travel options where people choose public transport first, not last.

To match unprecedented development and investment in the Airport Precinct, we are working to transform the way new, existing and neighbouring communities and workers travel throughout the Precinct.
Private car use is the main way people and businesses travel in the area today and will continue to increase in the lead up to the Western Sydney International Airport opening. The new transport options we offer will give people reliability and choice around how and when they travel, with less reliance on cars.
What is historically a rural area with limited and narrow local roads will gradually become a fully integrated transport network. We are laying the foundation now to connect a network of new roads, metro, buses, motorways and active transport to provide seamless and more reliable journeys for the people of Western Sydney.
