This free pre-employment program, delivered in partnership with Lack Group, has been strategically designed to address the traffic control workforce needs in the Hunter Region. The comprehensive training initiative includes a Traffic Control Combo course (TC/TMI), which provides essential skills for traffic management, alongside Acadiam Activation program to enhance participant readiness.
Successful participants will be offered casual roles across various regional projects, including the Hexham Straight Widening Alliance project.
Lack Group Training (RTO ID: 45747) will deliver this training. They are a proud Supply Nation Certified Indigenous-led Registered Training Organisation dedicated to providing high-quality training programs that empower both Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals, enhancing their skills and employment opportunities.
Information Days: Monday 10 March 2025 at 10am & Friday 14 March 2025 at 1pm at Hexham Straight Widening Alliance site, 10 Old Maitland Road, Sandgate

Completion date: 4 April 2025 (5 days)
Times: Day 1 and 5 – 8.30am to 3pm, Day 2 and 3 – 8.30am to 5pm and Day 4 – 7am to 1pm
Delivery: Face to Face
Venue: At the Hexham Straight Widening Alliance site located at Sandgate (Day 1 and 5), at Beresfield Bowls Club (Day 2 and 3) and at Maitland (Day 4).

RIIWHS206 Control Traffic with Portable Traffic Control Devices and Temporary Traffic Signs
RIIRIS301E Apply risk management processes
RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans
RIIWHS303 Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices

Applicants MUST be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander women and hold a current driver’s licence and mode of transport to be considered.
Able to pass a drug, alcohol and self-assessment medical test.
Possessing a white card or being willing to obtain one before starting the Pre-Employment Program is essential. If needed, this training will be free of charge and organised by the Hexham Straight Widening Alliance.
