Working with our industry partners

By working together, the NSW Government and industry can best achieve a shared vision of making the Western Sydney Airport Precinct an economic powerhouse that drives the productivity of Western Sydney and NSW.

To achieve that vision as quickly as possible, delivery of transport infrastructure and services needs to be staged so that it both meets demand as development occurs across the Airport Precinct and builds the foundations for new travel behaviours and future expansion of the transport network. This will require Transport and industry partners to engage often and share ideas about how transport needs can be delivered effectively.

Transport for NSW is committed to ongoing engagement with industry, including developers, in the Airport Precinct.

Developers

We encourage proponents to talk to us early in the planning process about their sites, so that we can understand their access needs which will help us develop infrastructure designs that maximise benefits for the Airport Precinct.

Businesses and other employers

As the Western Sydney Airport Precinct takes off, many businesses and organisations will begin calling it home, offering new jobs and services for Western Sydney.

While we have tried to make all parts of the Precinct easy to access by public or private transport, we are happy to hear from businesses who would like to suggest improvements or discuss their client or employees’ particular needs. To give any feedback, please contact us here.

Industry engagement principles

Transport for NSW is committed to the following principles to support positive outcomes in the Airport Precinct.

Proactively engage with industry groups with an interest in the Airport Precinct.

Share information early and provide design guidance to developers, to ensure that their plans and designs meet NSW Government standards and fully integrate with the rest of the Airport Precinct network

Create a simple, streamlined engagement process to make it easier for industry and developers to reach out and work with us.

Support the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in their Technical Assurance Panel process to work with developers in achieving outcomes that promote innovation and efficiency.

Adopting three different levels of engagement with developers to address different needs:

Individual meetings to listen and learn about key issues
Targeted group workshops to resolve specific issues such as interim access solutions
Formal industry briefings to share insights, project updates and progress on resolving challenges.
