Southwest Link: Free bike riding courses

We’re introducing lots of ways to make your riding experience easier during the upgrade of the T3 Bankstown Line.

Join the Transport for NSW Bike Bus every Wednesday morning in February for a free, friendly and safe guided ride from Hurlstone Park to Sydenham Station, with stops in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill.

Led by experienced riders, it’s the perfect way to get familiar with a popular bike commute route.

Leichhardt Bus Depot Conversion

In January 2025, Transport for NSW (Transport) approved the Leichhardt Bus Depot Conversion, which is being delivered as part of the Zero Emission Buses Program.

As part of the first stage, we are working in partnership with bus operators to convert 11 diesel and natural gas bus depots in Greater Sydney to zero emissions technology.

Converting our bus depots is an important step to enable the introduction of new Zero Emission Buses into our public transport fleet.

Lunar New Year Festival at Wolli Creek

Bayside Council has partnered with Aussie NightMarkets this Lunar New Year to bring a fun-filled, action-packed celebration to Wolli Creek.

There will be traditional lion dancing, music, food trucks, market stalls, rides and much more.

Get to the Festival with public transport by taking the bus or catching the train. Buses that stop at Cahill Park include 348, 422, N10, N11, 418. Plan your trip at transportnsw.info

Temporary changes to Marrickville Road

Transport for NSW is improving traffic efficiency on Marrickville Road, Marrickville.

We’re planning temporary changes to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow around the Marrickville Road and Silver Street intersection.

These changes will remain in place for one year, after which traffic conditions will be evaluated to make further decisions.

New Permanent cycleway for Sydney Park Road

Transport is replacing the temporary pop-up cycleway on Sydney Park Road with a new permanent two-way cycleway.

We will make the existing temporary pop-up cycleway on Sydney Park Road permanent, as part of the first stage of the Sydney Park Junction project.

Transport is finalising the design for the remaining stages of the project, including the Mitchell Road cycleway connection.

Sydenham Bus Layover: Update

The NSW Government is building a new bus layover at the corner of Railway Road and Burrows Avenue in Sydenham to improve the reliability and efficiency of bus services, while easing congestion for all road users.

Construction of the bus layover is scheduled to start in late January 2025 and work is expected to take up to seven months to complete, weather permitting.

Transport is upgrading the pedestrian crossing on Johnston Street, North Annandale to improve safety for school children, pedestrians and road users.

Bus changes in Sydney’s Inner West

From Sunday 8 December, we’ll be making changes to bus services in Sydney’s Inner West.

Timetable adjustments will affect most routes. Some bus routes will also change. Adjustments will also be made to dedicated school services across many areas.

Have your say – Left turn bans: Lyons Road and Edwin Street, Drummoyne

Transport for NSW invited the Drummoyne community to Have Your Say on the proposal to install left turn bans from Victoria Road citybound to Lyons Road and Edwin Street, Drummoyne, during weekday morning peak period between 7:00am and 9:00am.

The Have Your Say was opened from Monday 19 August to Monday 2 September 2024.

We are collating community feedback and will provide an update in due course.
