Traffic changes
To build the Warringah Freeway Upgrade we need to carry out a lot of surface work within a limited space.
With up to 16 lanes of traffic, four interchanges and 10 bridges, this project is very complex, but will improve our customers journeys.
Conditions on the Warringah Freeway will start to change for the work to be safely carried out.
This includes:
reducing speed limits
changing traffic lanes and freeway off/on ramps arrangements
closing lanes and road closures and implementing detours
establishing new construction site accesses from the freeway
Managing construction traffic
We know our work can be disruptive and delays can be frustrating. We are committed to reducing our impact wherever possible to keep motorists and buses moving, especially during peak travelling times. To manage our impact on you, we will be:
working outside peak periods when possible, to minimise the impact for road users and in particular commuters
using signage and lane marking to direct and guide you safely past our sites
using signage and lane marking to direct and guide you safely past our sites monitoring and managing traffic operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year at the Transport Management Centre helping to keep you moving
Public transport
We will need to make some short-term changes to bus stop locations and routes. This may include temporarily moving bus stops by a few hundred metres while work is being carried out or temporarily changing routes to avoid construction work. This may cause some minor increases in bus travel times at certain phases of our work.
We are committed to reducing our impact wherever possible to keep motorists and buses moving, especially during peak travelling times.
You will be notified well in advance of any disruptions or changes.
