The public exhibition period of the M6 Stage 1 Urban Design and Landscape Plan (UDLP) has closed.
The UDLP was on exhibition for feedback and comments from 2 February to 2 March 2023. During this time the community had the opportunity to make a submission in person, online and by taking part in four community sessions.
All feedback received will be taken under consideration and reflected in a submissions report that will be sent to the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE). More information is available on our project page.

We are excited to open our Community Information Centre to the general public, located at 142 President Avenue, Brighton-Le-Sands.
We look forward to meeting you to discuss any questions you may have between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. There is no need to book in advance, just drop in to speak to the M6 Stage 1 Community Team, look at maps, artist impressions and learn more about the Project.

During November 2022, we conducted our second Community Engagement Survey promoted through notifications and our Portal. Thank you to those who participated - your responses have helped us understand the best way to communicate with you and what information you are interested in. We will conduct our next Community Engagement Survey in May 2023. Tunnelling is continuing from our Arncliffe site on Marsh Street. Six roadheaders are now in operation along the tunnel alignment, with tunnelling activities to increase over the coming months.

22 December 2022
West Botany St Depot site shaft is complete to 51m deep and the first road header for that site has started excavation, our second tunnelling site.
We are also progressing with the construction of our acoustic shed, projected to be completed in February 2023. The acoustic shed is being built over the tunnel shaft to provide noise mitigation from tunnelling activities.

Roadwork and utilities relocation activities are taking place on President Avenue, Princes Highway and West Botany Street to upgrade the road network.
Recent works included preparing a base slab for installation of a new culvert to support safe water flow under President Avenue.

We are continuing site establishment for the construction of the 5 kilometre shared pedestrian and cyclist pathway. We have progressed with site establishment and vegetation removal from Civic Avenue to Chuter Avenue through Scarborough Park in preparation for the construction of the pathway. When the shared pathways are constructed, we will provide new trees and vegetation to improve shading as well as visual amenity, enhancing the quality of the landscape along the pathway.

The M6 Stage 1 is building the deepest motorway tunnel in NSW. In this video, Project Director, Teresa Avila, and Delivery Director, Tony Sharoo talk about the defining characteristics of tunnelling and the processes involved. Featuring footage from inside our tunnel shaft, Teresa and Tony explain how the M6 tunnels will be built, their depth, and what the project team is proactively doing to manage potential impacts to keep our people and the community safe.

Committee meetings commenced
The M6 Stage 1 Air Quality Community Consultative Committee was established in late 2022 to provide advice and share feedback on behalf of the local community on areas relating to air quality monitoring.
