Currently infrastructure construction projects are considered essential to the economy and will continue as planned across the city and the state.
The construction of the new and upgraded facilities will create around 200 jobs and support the local economy.
The safety and wellbeing of our workforce and the community is our highest priority. Our people are following hygiene and appropriate social distancing measures and will continue to do so.

Our construction activities will have a temporary impact on open space and the recreational facilities at Rockdale Bicentennial Park. We understand how important this area is for you so are upgrading the existing facilities at Ador Park and McCarthy Reserve, Rockdale and Brighton Memorial Playing Fields, before construction starts.
Your new recreational facilities will include the creation of new grass and synthetic playing fields, more car parking spaces as well as a new skate park and play areas.
We are staging the upgrades at Ador Park, McCarthy Park and Brighton Memorial Playing Fields to minimise impact to the existing facilities and local football season.
On behalf of Bayside Council, we developed a concept design and Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the proposed recreational facilities at Rockdale and Brighton- Le-Sands. We invited feedback on the REF in December 2019.
We received 117 submissions from the local community, organisations and sporting groups. Responses to your feedback are outlined in the submissions report. Bayside Council considered feedback and provided approval for us to build your new recreational facilities in April 2020.
We developed an Addendum to our REF to assess changes to our design and the construction of our project. Bayside Council approved the Addendum REF in August 2020.
Our team would like to thank you for providing your feedback and engaging with us as we have planned and prepared to construct your new facilities.
Our contractor, Ertech, commenced construction in August 2020.
We thank you for your patience as we work to construct your new recreational facilities.
