Warringah Freeway weekend work

Night work takes place up to 10 nights per month in various locations along the freeway. Generally, night work takes place in locations where limited construction work can take place during the day when all freeway traffic lanes are open and being used by vehicle traffic.
Weekend work takes place from Friday night to Monday morning, and on long weekends from Thursday or Friday night to Monday or Tuesday morning. Over the weekends, we make productive use of lower traffic volumes in Sydney to set up road closures and complete as much work as we can over the weekend, expediting the overall project work schedule.
Full freeway lane closures 2026
A full southbound closure of all lanes between the Lane Cove tunnel and Mount Street will be in place. Please use Pacific Highway to travel south to Berry Street and Mount Street on ramps to Sydney Harbour Bridge from:

Northbound lane closures
We are continuing to temporarily close northbound traffic lanes at night. All traffic from Sydney Harbour Bridge will detour to Pacific Highway northbound on:

Reduced lane capacity as a result of lane closures at night will result in traffic delays. Please allow additional travel time.
Weekend work and temporary traffic changes: North Sydney, Neutral Bay, Cammeray & Naremburn
In April 2026, we will be continuing consecutive weekend day and night work along the freeway and intersections in North Sydney, Neutral Bay, Cammeray, and Naremburn to speed up the work programme and reduce our overall impact to the surrounding community.
