The Minister for Planning and Public Spaces approved the M6 Stage 1 project in December 2019.
As part of the approval process, there have been some further changes that will result in greater benefits and reduced impacts to the community. We’re making these changes in response to the Conditions of Approval.
Download the planning approval information sheetThank you for providing your valuable feedback during the public exhibition of the Environmental Impact Statement and Preferred Infrastructure Report, which has delivered positive changes to the project.
One of the key changes means we will now build an off-road shared pedestrian and cycle pathway that will replace the on road connection between Bruce Street and England Street in Brighton-Le-Sands. This change will improve safety and connectivity for the local community.
Another outcome of your feedback will be the implementation of a Wetland Monitoring Program. This will ensure wetlands within or nearby the project area are adequately protected, but also aim to minimise impacts on the biodiversity of Patmore Swamp.
